Year of the Goat, or: Looking Forward to 2015

I’ll keep this short. ’Tis the season, after all, and I understand that you don’t have time to read long-winded blog entries. There are gifts to wrap, carols to sing, and eggnog to drink. I respect that.

After about two months of serving on an interim basis, I have been hired to serve as Assistant Director of Music Ministries at Church of the Ascension here in Pittsburgh. What this means for me personally is that I’ll be leaving my current day job (at a bank), and for the first time since college, I’ll be a full-time musician. Here’s what this means for this site, and ultimately, for you:

1. I’ll have more time to write, so you’ll probably see new pieces pop up here fairly regularly.
2. I’ll have more time to work on this site, which means you’ll see improvements and updates, including but not necessarily limited to (a) a better, more user-friendly order form, (b) audio samples of works, and (c) the ability to download audio of complete pieces.
   
3. You’ll also see more activity on this blog. My goal is to post once a week. This may not seem like a lot, but since I’ve been averaging about five posts a year, this is a definite improvement.

Thanks for your support, and (particularly regarding this site) your patience. Have a merry Christmas, a happy new year, and I’ll see you in 2015.
