Sonata for Piano

Sonata for Piano is a student piece that continues to be the most (if not the only) successful thing I’ve ever written in sonata form. For years, I’ve been threatening to add additional movements to make it a more “proper” sonata, but it remains (rather stubbornly, if you ask me) a single-movement work. In all honesty, while more movements would certainly make it a longer piece, I don’t know that they would necessarily make it a better piece. As it is, I think it has a certain unpretentious charm, hence my decision to leave it as it is rather than try to make it something else.
