Order Sheet Music
If you've ordered sheet music from order form.
Chris Massa and Bickerstaff and Sons (ASCAP) before, feel free to skip this and proceed directly to the If this is your first time, however, please take a few moments to look over these instructions/FAQs before placing your order. Instructions
- First, make sure you're using an actual computer rather than a mobile device. The order form is likely to have limited functionality when viewed on a mobile device, and it is highly recommended that you use an actual computer to view the order form and place any orders.
- Decide what pieces you'd like to purchase. Detailed descriptions, in addition audio and sample scores, can all be found on the Works page.
- Once you go to the order form, enter your contact information. This is very important for several reasons, none of which are spam-related. If you forget to enter your contact information, you will be reminded later on.
- Then, find the pieces you'd like to order. They are in the same order as on the Works page, so finding them should be a snap.
- Many pieces are available in several varieties (i.e., score only, or parts and score), and all are available as either paper or PDF. Simply choose what you'd like to order and enter the quantity.
- Please be aware that a grand total will not appear anywhere on the order form. The order form is to give us the information to fill out your invoice, which will include your grand total as well as payment options.
- When you're done with the order form, hit "Submit".
- An invoice will be sent to your inbox within 24-48 hours. This invoice will include your grand total as well as payment options.
FAQs
Q: I can't find payment options on the order form. Where are they?
A: You can't find them because they're not there. The order form is to give us the information we need to fill out your invoice, which will include payment options.
Q: Why can't I find "Missa Brevis" and "All Flesh is Grass" on the order form?
A: You can't find them because they're not there. The order form is only for Chris's pieces that are published by Bickerstaff and Sons (ASCAP), while "Missa Brevis" and "All Flesh is Grass" are published by Mark Foster. They can be purchased wherever fine sheet music is sold, such as J. W. Pepper.
Q: What are the paper copies of the music like?
A: In the case of the choral pieces and most of the full scores, they are spiral-bound booklets of 3.5x11 paper. Some of the full scores will be on larger paper (i.e., legal).
Q: Why do I need to enter a quantity for music in PDF format? Can't I just buy one copy and print several copies?
A: Well, yes, you could, but it's against the law. When you purchase several copies of music in PDF format, you are essentially purchasing the right to make the specified number of copies of that piece, and there will be a phrase at the bottom of each page (a limited license agreement) indicating just that. If you make more than the specified number of copies, you are violating the license agreement, and charges could be pressed. And anyway, why would you want to? Chris is a hard-working independent composer with a wife, a cat, and a mortgage (and he's a nice guy to boot), and when you make unlicensed copies of his music, frankly, you're stealing from him. So anyway, back to the original question... Can you just buy it once and make copies? Yes, technically, you could, but you're not that kind of a person, are you?
Q: Can the order form be used for international orders?
A: Well, yes and no. Yes, it can be used to indicate what you'd like to purchase, but the order form is not really set up for international orders. Specifically, the shipping address may not fit, and the amounts will most likely be incorrect. The best bet is to simply email [email protected], and Chris will be in touch with you shortly.
