That’s right. The email issues are resolved.
That’s all for now. Thanks for your patience.

Talk about bad timing...
Okay, it was more than bad timing. It was generally bad timing on my part. I am in the process of switching from one domain host to another. This is not terribly interesting, and I wouldn’t even be telling you if it wasn’t for this reason: info@chrismassa.com is currently not working. Please don’t panic. It will be up and running soon, and if all goes according to plan, I will be able to access emails received during the switch. For now, it’s probably best to wait a little bit to email me. Please accept my apology for any inconvenience, and I will let you know as soon as things are back to normal. Yes, that’s right. On Friday, February 5 (as I’m writing this, that’s a week from yesterday) at 8:00 PM, last week’s OvreArts concert, “Igor et al,” will be broadcast on Classical WQED-FM 89.3 as part of Performance in Pittsburgh, and that will include my latest opus, a piece for winds entitled .38. As you can probably guess, a piece of music with a title like .38 has a story behind it. I shared some thoughts before the ensemble played the piece (which they did extremely well, by the way), and while I hope the powers that be will choose to include my introduction, I don't know if they will. So, what follows is, more or less, what I said. Please, before you listen to the broadcast, read this. More than any piece I’ve ever written, .38 benefits from, even demands, context. I graduated from high school the same year as the Columbine shooting. This was also the same year as a shooting scare at my own high school. The shooting didn’t actually happen, but it probably would have resulted in an even higher body count than Columbine if the principal hadn’t heard about it, and called the police, on the day it was set to take place. |
